GLOWA Volta Decision Support System
The overall goal of GLOWA Volta is to develop, in close collaboration with our local and international partners, a scientific information system that will integrate knowledge and provide decision support for the planning, management and use of water resources in the Volta basin.

Geoportal & Data Management
Here, the vast amounts of different types of scientific data related to the GVP, are collected, arranged and provided to GVP members.

Weather Forecasts for West Africa
See the 5-day forecasts for Temperature, Precipitation, Runoff and Pressure in West Africa provided by IMK-IFU.

Predicting the Onset of the Rainy Season (ORS)
As the prediction of the ORS is a tricky task, crop failure and economic losses can be the consequence. Within GVP, scientists developed a scientific prediction scheme to cope with the problem.

Climate Change
The Volta Basin is a climate-sensitive semi-arid to sub-humid region in West Africa. To investigate the impact of the expected global climate change on regional water availability, regional climate modelling was performed.

Volta Basin Water Allocation System VB-WAS
The VB-WAS is a decision support tool to analyse the impact of infrastructure development. It includes climatic-hydrological, economic and river basin management models.

Capacity Building & Technology Transfer
Throughout the third project phase (2006-2009), capacity building is being given a high priority to ensure the successful transfer of the project outputs to local stakeholders.

Stakeholder Dialog & Knowledge Exchange
The polycentric governance of water resources and the lack of comprehensive water management frameworks in the Volta Basin required GVP's interaction with a large number of different actors at different levels.

Trainings & Workshops
